Date:October 11, 2026Visits:

On October 10, 2026, the Westlake Battery Micro-Forum, the third session of the EIE Frontier Seminar Series, was held at the Yungu Campus of Westlake University. Hosted by the Department of Electronic Information Engineering, School of Engineering, Westlake University, the forum was co-organized by the Jianhui Wang Lab, the Yuxuan Xiang Lab, and the Yu Chen Lab.

Prof. Wei Xie, Chair Professor of Optical Communication and Sensing at Westlake University and Honorary Chair of the forum, delivered the opening remarks. He welcomed all guests and introduced the development overview of the university and the school. Seven leading experts in battery research were invited to give academic presentations: Researcher Xuejie Huang from the Institute of Physics, Chinese Academy of Sciences; Professor Quanhong Yang from Tianjin University; Professor Hengxing Ji from the University of Science and Technology of China; Professor Xiulin Fan from Zhejiang University; Professor Dongliang Chao from Fudan University; Researcher Kai Liu from Tsinghua University; and Researcher Quanquan Pang from Peking University. They shared cutting-edge progress on material innovation, interface mechanisms and technological advances of next-generation secondary batteries.

The speakers presented their latest findings across key research areas, including electrolytes and interfaces in all-solid-state lithium batteries, structural regulation of carbon materials, optimization of electrode fast-charging and low-temperature performance, design of fast-charging electrolyte additives, construction of high-energy-density aqueous batteries, electrolyte design for lithium metal batteries, and reaction regulation of sulfur-based batteries. In-depth discussions were held on technical breakthroughs to boost energy density, charging speed, cycling stability and safety of next-generation batteries. Attending faculty members and students interacted actively with the speakers, and the on-site discussions were in-depth and thorough.

This forum has established a high-level academic exchange platform for the field of advanced batteries and energy materials. It will continue to promote cross-institutional research collaboration and drive the innovation and application of next-generation high-performance battery technologies.
